At Community 1 Federal Credit Union, the basis of each member relationship, many
of which span generations, is trust. You have chosen to do business with Community
1 FCU, and we honor that relationship.
As financial services professionals entrusted with sensitive financial information,
we respect the privacy of our members and are committed to taking appropriate steps
to safeguard member information. We believe the confidentiality and protection of
member information is one of your primary concerns. And while information is critical
to providing quality service, we recognize that one of our most important assets
is our member's trust. Thus, the safekeeping of member information is an important
aspect of member service at Community 1 Federal Credit Union.
We, our, and us, when used in this notice, refer to Community 1 Federal Credit Union.
When we use the words "you" and "your" we mean the following types of members: our
consumer members who have a continuing relationship with us by purchasing or holding
financial products or services, such as:
- Checking Account
- Savings Account
- Money Market Account
- Loan Account
- Credit Card Account
- Safe Deposit Box
- Individual Retirement Account where we act as Custodian or Trustee
- Financial, Investment or Economic Advisory Services
- Mortgage Brokerage Services.
We will tell you the sources of the information we collect about you, and what measures
we take to secure that information. First we must define some terms.
Nonpublic personal information / Information about you that we collect in connection
with providing a financial product or service to you. Nonpublic personal information
does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone
directories or government records. Hereafter, we will use the term information to
mean nonpublic personal information as defined in this section.
Affiliate / A company we own or control.
Nonaffiliated third party / A nonaffiliated third party, or "other" party, is a
person we do not employ or a company that is not an affiliate of ours.
THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect information about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other forms.
- Information about your transactions with us.
- Information about your transactions with other parties.
- Information from a consumer reporting agency.
THE CONFIDENTIALITY, SECURITY AND INTEGRITY OF YOUR INFORMATION
We restrict access to information about you to those employees who need to know
that information to provide products and services to you. We maintain physical,
electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect this information.
We have additional security devices in place to ensure the accuracy, integrity and
confidentiality of the information with regard to transactions that take place on
the internet.
YOUR INFORMATION AND OTHER PARTIES
We will not disclose information about you to anyone except as expressed in this
policy or as permitted by law. Examples of this might include disclosures necessary
to service your account or prevent unauthorized transactions.
INFORMATION ABOUT FORMER MEMBERS
We do not disclose information about former members, except as permitted by law.
AUTHORIZED SHARING / JOINT MARKETING
We may disclose the following information to other financial institutions with whom
we have joint marketing agreements, and to companies that perform marketing services
on our behalf. You do not have a right to opt out of the disclosure of this information.
Information you give us on an application or other forms, such as name, address,
Social Security Number, and date of birth.
Types of Businesses
We may disclose information pursuant to joint marketing agreements to the
following types of businesses: financial service providers such as insurance agents.
Reasons for Disclosing
We may disclose information about you to other financial institutions with whom
we have joint marketing agreements to provide you with information about additional
products and services.
Limitations on Disclosure
Here are the limitations we impose on the use of information disclosed to other
financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements: we do not allow
telephone solicitations.
